The year is 1180 BC. The world is at an impasse…

Welcome to our mod for the 2023 EU4 Modathon! It cranks back the clock to show an approximation of the world, both concrete and legendary, in the late Bronze Age. It’s not quite as extensive and detailed as we would have liked, but you’ll have to excuse us, we took on quite the mammoth task on this mod and its a miracle we got this much done.

Currently only a few of the most important nations have proper flavour, and off them, only Assur (Assyria) has a full mission tree. More will be coming after the competition to fix this!

That said, we have made some broad mechanics changes:

  • Famine now replaces corruption, and increases as your development and army grows
  • Harvests every year will lessen your Famine based on the goods produced of your food producing provinces
  • Import metals like iron, copper, and tin to gain access to the powerful Bronze and Steel modifiers even if you don’t have access to those resources at home
  • New institutions representing the important innovations of the early Iron Age

There’s also tons of smaller things, like historical formables, new government reforms, religions, cultures, and ideas. While the mod isn’t quite as thin and malnourished as some of the people that lived through the Late Bronze Age Collapse, it is still lacking in many areas, which we hope to work on in the future. We hope it at least gives a little insight into the world (or more accurately the Near East) in this crucial and dramatic period of human history.

Please donate to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation[donorbox.org] – raising money for this charity is the goal of the 2023 Modathon!
