The mod is a personal preference submod for Terminus Imperium TW shared with the community

Hey, this submod changes the Teutons faction to Varangi-Rus, adds new units and makes small changes to the campaign.. Terminus overhaul is one of my favorite mods for Attila. However, I felt Teutons did not fit well in the mix and Kievan Rus is my favourite historic faction in general.
So… I decided to fit them in by making small changes, adding units and some flavour text to replace the Teutons with an early Varangi – Rus nation.

YES I KNOW Varangi, Rus and KievanRus is not a thing in the 4th century…

but nevertheless i wanted them somehow in the mix, due to the location of the teutons, their beatiful unit designs and the roleplay options they provided. I tried to make them feel as much as related to the time period possible.

                                                     

Submod Changes

1. Replaced Teutons’ banner with a custom made Varangi-Rus banner

2. Added 5 new units to the roster

a) Early Druzhina Guard – elite sword infantry with javelins

b) Early Druzhina Nobles (general) – elite sword infantry with javelins. Starting general unit for the faction, later upgraded to Royal Fellowship (previous Teutons Elite Guard)

c) Early Bogatyrs – elite missile/melee cav unit

d) Royal Rogatina – elite spearmen

e) Vitjaz Lancers – elite lancers

f)Volga Rangers – elite missile/two handed shock infantry

3. Minimal reskin to original teuton units to feel more rus

4. Reassigned the whole roster. Now the Varangi Rus use a mix of Slavic, Nordic and Germanic units to better describe the intermingling of nobles and the indigenous population.

5. Replaced the "Arian Rule" with a new (but similar) faction trait called "Together We Stand"

6. Changed all related campaign flavour texts to match the new culture

7. All 6 culture related units are unlocked via the technology tree

8.The mod has two minor versions. V 0.1 units are recruitable only from buildings (no tech tree) and V 0.2 units are recruitable via the progression of the tech tree

No changes to the core gameplay. The terminus mod will be played as its creators have intended. The changed faction keeps the former teutonic units but with different names.

To allow the submod to replace the necessary tables you should place it before the main Terminus mod
