Description:

The "NightOps perk" and the "Night vision goggles" are not very usefull at the moment.
The current visual impairment at nights and in dungeons is only 10%, which makes the trait nearly useless as you could see at night nearly the same as in dayllight.

So this mod does two things
  • Option to reduce the visual distance at night by 50%, the enemy detection rate by 30%, and chance to hit at night by 30%.
  • All ingame nights are now way darker than in the vanilla game. (Has 3 options in the settings to set the intensity)

Note: Every feature can be toggled on / off in the Mod Options.
The devs have fixed the missing "NightOps perk" and "Night vision goggles" calculations, which now work properly. So I removed that part from the mod.

How does the mod effect the gameplay?

Those changes allow for a more challenging NightOps gameplay, making them harder, as you don’t spot enemies that fast. Also making night vision goggles, the NightOps perk and all additional light sources way more important now.
Also sniper rifles are not that usefull at night anymore, as your visual detection distance is around 50% shorter.

All the night effect changes in this mod work cumulative with other environment effects, like fog or firestorm. Reducing the view distance even further in those conditions.
