Description:

The M8 is an American WW2 era light combat vehicle.

It was developed from 1942 to 1943 to replace the M6 gun carrier, with the requirements that it could resist a .50 caliber from the front, and a 7.62 from the sides. It went into production in 1943 as an infantry supporter and light vehicle destroyer. Even after WW2, the M8 still saw extensive use, even after it was supposedly decommissioned during the Korean War. It was able to see usage during the Vietnam War, although the US noted its aging design was in need for a replacement. Even today, a few countries operate the M8 Greyhound.
