Welcome my Countryman! Have you ever felt that the empire of man, the most "important" actor in the Warhammer franchise has a lack of love from CA? Do you want to face the armies of the Druchii head-on without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ yourself when the map is hilly or forest?
Let’s face the big problem: The infantry of the Empire is ♥♥♥♥, melee and missile alike! When the enemy reaches your line in the endgame, you are screwed. So, this mod fixes this, by adding tier 4 and 5 infantry to the roster.
Haters would now say: But it’s in the lore, that humans are one of the weakest species in Warhammer! They have numerical advantage and invent new things such as Steamtanks! – That would be correct, if there wasn’t the limitation of 20 troops in an army, so no numerical advantage and the inventions are expensive as Hel!!!(Get it?)
Greatswords are more expansive than Sisters of Averlon? Steamtanks cost 550 per turn and Stardragons only 600? I mean, this is a bit unfair, right? How are you supposed to win under these conditions (and have fun)?
Not everyone can be a Legend 😉
However, I have to admit, my mod could be a bit unbalanced at the moment. Especially in the Old World. I will wait for your responses.
But let’s finish the introduction (I already talked a bit too much here) and let us come to the main part:
The units are all effected by faction and commander effects, and they can be a part of a city garrison.
Lansquenets (tier 4):
Main Role: hybrid, damage dealer
Professionally trained imperial soldiers, equipped with a rapid-fire rifle and a greatsword.
Recruitable at a Foundry and an Armoury building. They cost 850||225.
Tech & Skills: Greatswords & Handgunners
Inquisition Troops (tier 5):
Main Role: heavy infantry charge, suicidal attacks
Recruited from the few flagellants who run to their deaths…and survived.
Recruitable at a Cathedral of Sigmar building. They cost 1400||275.
Tech & Skills: Flagellants
Imperial Guardsmen (tier 5):
Main Role: holding the line (main & flanks), anti large
Only the strongest men are allowed to join the Imperial Guard. An enemy of all monsters in this world, no matter in what form they may occur.
Recruitable at the City-State and an Armoury building. They cost 1300||250.
Tech & Skills: Halberdiers & Griffon Knights
-port to Warhammer 3, if the Empire doesn’t get a fitting rework
-rework the animation for lansquenet (they hold the greatsword as a one-handed weapon)
-simplify the design of the Inquisition Troops (it’s a bit too much for foot soldiers)
-balancing
