Mechit Race
A race of quirky tech felines who make it their duty to record all the universe’s history and keep the records safe… er, most of them do.

– Custom animations, not based on anything except vanilla Starbound sprites
– Custom audio
– Transparent clothing, so you don’t have super weird sprites. (The above breaks all pants and shirts- hats are untested and back items should be fine)
– 40 different head / monitor types
– Voltip pet with 14 colour combos
– A few dialogue changes when talking to other species or to Mechit
– Altered teleport colour
– Some custom scan dialogue (about halfway through!)
– One dungeon will occasionally spawn on forest planets. It’s only one building at the moment… but it’s something!
– Two clothing items and some built-in Armor Adapt integration- Mechit can wear certain Floran tiered clothes, thanks to Tanz!
– Two sets of findable fossils
– Custom AI and an alternate custom SAIL mod that changes dialogue
– Custom respawn, maybe
– Custom ship graphics, also maybe
– Racial armour / tiered armour
– More and better dialogue
– More custom scan dialogue
– More monitor types and colours
– More added dungeons
– Mechit are both silly AND serious, not one or the other. You’re signing up for ridiculous names, dialogue that comes across as silly or naive, and overdramatizations. You’re also signing up for heartfelt lore, serious storylines, and genuine work. The two coexist here, expect that.
– The gender choice changes nothing. Both are the exact same, use the same sound bases, ect.
– This race is not Protogen-adjacent. It is not even remotely inspired by it. I wasn’t familiar with them prior to this beyond knowing that they’re furries. I do not want to be associated with the person who made them in any regard. Don’t bring them up, please.
– It is also not meant to be a similar to Telekit, the similarities were a coincidence- but if you’re looking for another race mod along a similar vein, try it out!
