Kontakt-1 (ERA)
Kontakt-1 ERA was developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s, intended to counteract HEAT projectiles, and was widely used on various armored vehicles, including tanks like the T-72 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. Simplicity of design and mass character with efficiency make it the most common tank dynamic armor in the countries of the former Soviet Union. Despite the fact that russia and Ukraine have more advanced models, both countries use it massively.

ERA became the subject of memes and internet discourse in 2022 and 2023 amid the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, starting with threads on 4chan’s /k/ board. ERA memes were made about the Ukrainian army putting ERA on seemingly everything following the military’s acquisition of German-made Leopard 2 tanks from Poland.

- This is not OP. ERA couldn’t defend if projectile damage model is too strong.
