Description:

This mod features the GNR ‘A1’ Pacific designed by Sir Nigel Gresley in 1922 for, what was then, the Great Northern Railway. These locomotives were fast runners and could haul the fastest express trains on the east coast. These engines were the basis for the LNER’s very successful A3 class, and later the A4 class.

Flying Scotsman was originally designed as an A1/3 class in 1923, in mid transition from the two classes. The reason A2 was missed out is this was already applied to a Pacific from the North Eastern Railway that was absorbed into the LNER in 1923. This A2 was designed by Vincent Raven and is also available on my Workshop.

The A1s often hauled the LNER’s set of articulated teak coaches. These often consisted of 8 articulated Teak pullman coaches. To represent this, I have included a set of 3 smaller articulated coaches to be hauled behind the Pacific.

Full list of changes made to the mod in the update:
New whistle sound
New tender mesh
New textures
Entirely new mesh for the engine
Statistics change
Balanced LNER ‘A3’ model
A set of teak articulated coaches, also from 1922.
