Description:

Textile Expanded is mod makes Fabric an industrial good made of a new agricultural good called fiber which consists of cotton, wool, and flax, and respectively can be produced from cotton plantations, livestock ranches, and farms. Naturally to prevent profitability issues for clothes and fabric their base prices were increased and therefore their overall demand is decreased. However pop needs and buy packages are adjusted to changes and game is tested for balance.

Added:

– Cotton Plantations now produce fiber (base price: 20) which is a new good
– Both farms and Ranches now have the option to focus on fiber production
– Fabric (base price:30 ) is now produced by Textile Mills
– Clothes (base price:40 ) are produced by Clothing Factories
– Poorer pops now consume fabric and fiber for their basic clothing needs
– Price of clothes and luxury clothes (base price 80) is increased so pops need it less and consume it less however
overall profitability of clothes in mid game is not effected significantly
– Construction sector with wooden pm activated now consumes fiber instead of fabric
– Subsistence farms now produce some fiber and mostly fabric and small amount if clothes

Effects:
– Profitability of Clothing Industry prioritizing in regular clothes is considerably reduced in early game due to lack of
modern machinery but luxury clothes are still relatively profitable in early game (if silk is available in market)
– Poorest pops consume both fiber and fabric for their clothing needs, poor and lower class pops consume primarily
fabric along with some clothes, upper middle class and lower upper class pops consume primarily clothes and some
luxury clothes. Richest pops mostly consume luxury clothes as usual but its threshold is increased.
– Historically, these changes give slight advantage to GB, China, and Ottoman Empire as major fabric manufacturers.
– GB textile industry does not go bankrupt due to Opium Wars, instead their clothing industry which uses silk as input
goes bankrupt if GB goes to war with China.
– USA has more flavor due to fiber being a major export which makes landowners more powerful in states where there
are cotton plantations
– African colonies are more valuable as fiber (cotton plantations) can be scarce good if USA or GB does not trade with
you
– Fabric becomes abundant after technological advancements clothes become more desired after sewing machine
pm is unlocked
– Performance of the game is not much affected by these changes

Compatibility

Textiles Expanded is compatible with majority of the mods around there so long as they do not change construction pm, textile mill pm and subsistence farms outputs
