Strangers and Freaks

A collection of twenty custom playable characters, each with custom dialogue and backstories. They can be found scattered all over the world.

Nyfari: Shek Sharpshooter, wanted by the UC for theft(among many other things). Can be found drunk in a bar somewhere in Shem…

Smash: Scarred and ancient Deadhive mercenary for hire. Dumb, but honorable and brave. Can be found in World’s End.

Maggie: Escaped Greenlander slave from the Holy Nation, cursed with a nasty verbal limitation. Rumored to be hiding in the Hub…

Ludwig: Clinically insane doctor with a morbid take on the world. Can be found drinking in a bar in Shark.

Ruby: Tech Hunter aspirant following in her parents’ (tragic) footsteps. She’s looking for traveling partners in Flats Lagoon.

Emerald: Former Swamp Ninja looking to turn over a new leaf. Seeking out a new squad somewhere in the Swamps…

Trevor: Irate, drug-addled drunk. Last seen throwing empty bottles at Nelly…

Micro: Teeny tiny assassin bot for hire. Looking for traveling partners in Black Scratch…

Tanya: Painfully short Greenlander with a troubled past. Last seen looking for a friend in Last Stand.

Visha: Tanya’s childhood friend. Was last seen accompanying her father to fight the Bugmaster. Legend has it that the two of them managed to reach his throne…

Mirrah: Shortstack Sundemon Scorchlander with a fiery disposition. Rumored to be somewhere in the Border Zone…

Glas: Western Hive Solder, and lifelong partner to Mirrah. The two are inseparable.

Chips: Extremely short Western Hive Worker. Looking for work in Bark.

Simmie: Outcast UC noblewoman, wanted by the Cities and Tengu. Last seen in the company of Holy Nation Rebels.

Levi: A distinctly green Hive Prince with a ysterious past. Last seen somewhere in the Hook.

Benny: Short-spoken Scorchlander bruiser of few words. Looking for sparring/traveling partners in Mourn.

Mudd: Simple and soft spoken Greenlander, wanted for murder by the authorities. Rumored to be hiding out in Black Scratch…

Hank: Greenlander merc for hire. Knows his way around an assortment of weapons. Last seen in the Foglands…

Sanford: All-around Greenlander bruiser for hire. Looking to be hired in Drifter’s Last.

Deimos: Technically-aquainted Greenlander recruit, last seen drinking in a bar in Sho-Battai.

Inspirations for each character:

Nyfari: Loosely based on the very first character I ever made for Kenshi, a female shek that uses crossbows. This character is an homage to my first experience with this game, so to speak.
Smash: Lossely inspired by Super Mutants from Fallout.
Ludwig: Based on the Medic from Team Fortress 2.
Maggie: Inspired by character(s) from Fallout 3 named Gary.
Ruby: Inspired by Ruby Rose from RWBY.
Emerald: Loosely inspired by the RWBY character of the same name.
Trevor: Trevor Phillips from GTA5.
Micro: OC. I just wanted to make a tiny assassin droid.
Tanya and Visha: Youjo Senki.
Mirrah and Glass: Baed on the titular characters from the Kenshi webcomic "Glas Mirrah." They are my tribute to saltshaker42’s awesome work.
Benny, Simmie and Levi: *Loosely* based on the Endbringers Behemoth, Simurgh and Leviathan from the web series Parahumans, by J.D. "Wildbow" McCrae.
Chips: Fan-favorite community character, now represented in the game.
Mudd: A homage to Les Claypool. Many of his dialog lines reference the song ‘My Name Is Mud’ by les Claypooll.
Hank, Sanford and Deimos: Based on the protagonists of the long-running Madness Combat series.
