Description:
Lost and the Damned 3: Return of the Jedi Dead

A relatively lightweight vanilla+ unit mod that uses in-game assets to add mortal henchmen to various factions.

What?

This mod is an update, combination and re-work of a couple of Total Warhammer 2 mods, primarily The Lost and the Damned 2 and Sartosa Free Company. New cultist units are available for many chaos factions, Vlad has access to Imperial-style state troops, Sartosa has mortal pirates and there’s a few Numassian’s thrown in for fun.

Chaos Cultists:
Available for a wide variety of chaos factions, cultists are mostly a thematic addition put in for flavour when chaos rebellions spring up but they fill the vague niche of being cheap, disposable infantry (WOC recruitment is currently bugged – wasted too much time trying to get this to work, will re-examine later).

    Cultists:

  • Brethren – expendable mob
  • Insurgents – sneaky archers
  • Zealots – 2h swordsmen

Vampire Lackeys:
The aristocracy of the night is often depicted as seeking to dominate the living rather than wipe them out entirely with the true von Carstein (Vlad) seeking to become Emperor and that impertinent upstart (Manfred) still claiming to be the rightful count of Stirland.

To this end most vampire factions have access to downtrodden ‘Vassal’ infantry that replace some garrison units and can be recruited along with elite ‘Thrall Lifeguards’. The main Sylvanian faction (Vlad & Izzy) can even pretend to be a proper Imperial County again with a selection of state-troop style units. I’ve borrowed the Tomb Kings unit limits so you shouldn’t run in to too many of these guys when fighting vamps in the early game but they can increase the unit limit by building the appropriate buildings.

    Most Vamps:

  • Vassal Spearmen
  • Vassal Bowmen
  • Thrall Foot Guards (sword & shield)
  • Thrall Foot Guards (greatsword)
  • Thrall Horse Guards (cavalry)

    Sylvania:

  • Swordsmen
  • Spearmen
  • Halberdiers
  • Crossbowmen
  • Handgunners
  • Cannon
  • Mortar
  • Outriders
  • Knights

When CA added the crossbowmen & handgunners to the von carstein bloodline mechanic it threatened to clash with mods like this one but I’ve modded the bloodlines units to appear as more "vassal" style infantry so as not to duplicate the state troops already added

Sartosa Free Company:
Previously its own mod I decided to merge the pirates into Lost and the Damned because they both basically do the same thing of adding men to vampire factions. "Sartosa Free Company" takes the existing two units that Aranessa already has access to and extends them out to a duplicate roster of living pirates for the Sartosa faction. Also included are a few ‘Regiments of Reknown’ style units ‘cos they were fun to make and I was drunk on rum at the time.

    Core Units:

  • Pirate Deckhands (Polearms)
  • Pirate Gunnery Mob
  • Pirate Swashbucklers (elite/veteran free company)
  • Pirate Carronade
  • Pirate Mortar
  • Pirate Maneaters (pistol ogres with pirate stats/abilities/red line integration etc)

    RoR:

  • Order of the Bloated Purse
  • Sons of Kaleb
  • Blackwind Corsairs
  • Grog Bombers

Men of Numas:
Numas is one of the only cities in Nehekara that the living still reside in, so I’ve cobbled together a handful of units to represent them on the battlefield.

  • Numasian Guards (Spears)
  • Numasian Scouts (Archers)
  • Numasian Outriders (Light Cav)

Why?

It’s a little weird we have witch hunters but for the longest time had no witches to hunt eh? Skipped right past the mundane bad guys straight to armoured super-humans and the literal walking dead. I’ve tried to trim down the mod in a few places compared to TW2 in order to avoid unit bloat and the like. It exists entirely for flavour and atmosphere but if you do see any glaring gameplay related issues do let me know.

For those wondering where the graveguard and skellie archers from the previous mod went do not be troubled, work has already begun on "Elites and Tweaks" a new mod that seeks to add missing unit variants where lore appropriate (e.g. graveguard with spears).

Could…?

If you have any requests, feedback, bug-reports or suggestions I’m open to hear them but there are a few things to bear in mind. Firstly I’m not going to maintain multiple versions of the mod but I’m very happy to assist anyone who wants to customise it for themselves – the most common changes like "can I disable unit x or add it to faction y are usually easy to do. There’s a brief guide in the discussion tab and I’ll answer any questions if folks need help. Second most of my mods are "vanilla+", I don’t use any of the popular overhauls like SFO or radious so compatibility isn’t supported.

The mod is 99% done but I’ll keep tweaking where necessary – have fun!
