Tall Pines Ranger Base Alpha
The Tall Pines Rangers are the local militia group that defends Tall Pines Valley. They came into service just after the bombs fell. Made up of remnants of the local National Guard that survived the nuclear fallout, as well as native trail guides and sheriff deputies, they set up shop in the local military armory. They spent most of the early years transforming the place up into a proper base and training new recruits. Now, over 200 years later, the TPR have spread across the valley in various outposts, leaving the refurbished armory as their main base.
Horses:
Among the various animals that survived the clouds of fallout was a small herd of trail horses, used for tourists to go trail riding. The then fledgling Rangers took the animals into their care and decided to make use of them. Seeing as the animals were used to the rugged terrain of the forest trails and the slopes of the surrounding hills and mountains, the Rangers decided to use them for transportation and as pack animals. Basically, they figured a horse could traverse a forested hill better than a truck or jeep. So, after finding any recruits with the knowledge of caring for and riding horses, they began training in earnest. And so, a new branch called: The Mounted Rangers, was born.

Sorry that there isn’t much lore for this yet. I just finished the map and have yet to put a good story together. I will change the description when I do. As you can probably guess, yes, I made this map from the CTA original military base map. While it is a small map, you can still get a good defensive battle going.
