VTS Weapon Resting (Redux)
This is an old mod from years ago in a forum. Not mine, but I thought I would resurrect it.
Updated the code and added CBA keybind.

Well actually its more like ‘weapon resting’ because the bipod doesnt come down.
It has the advantage of a much wider swivel range than vanilla, and a much better number of spots to work.
For example, with your rifle, the vanilla deploy only works at certain angles and objects -this mod works when you cannot get the right angle to deploy.
It also adds a basic wind direction indicator.
..or autoriflemen wanting to supress a certain patch but the MG won’t depoy…
Set the keybind to your preferences.
Vanilla ‘deploy’ mode still has more accurate aim due to bipod being used (or similar). This adds to realism, but also there is less shooting angle and less spots to deploy.
To get an idea of how it compares, in Arma there are different levels of aim stability (excluding stances):
1. free without any support
2. resting on an object, indicated in Arma in top right hand corner near the soldier stance pic, a square white box
3. deploying weapon, using a keybind, and indicated in Arma in top right hand corner with solid triangle and solid white box
this mod adds another level – which sits between 2 and 3.
I end up using this mod more than vallina resting / deploy, because of the wider angles for shots.
*UPDATED – now the effect is reapplied after reload.

You can have a key combination, like control+c, but not two sets of them. Only first keybind will work if you have two. Reason is with that with CBA settings I am using a slightly different method to not clash with vanilla deploy keybind.
P.S. update I have just found two other versions of the mod in the workshop, however one throws errors if you change the keybind and stops working, and the other one is an exact copy of the original mod, which means you have to edit a text file to change settings and put it in the Arma install folder.
This is the best one.
