Green Hill Zone – Sonic the Hedgehog
The greenest of hills!
Welcome to Green Hill Zone, where Sonic’s journey to stop the mad Dr. Eggman’s evil schemes began! Drawing inspiration from Green Hill’s appearance in Sonic 1, Generations, and Mania, this version of Sonic’s most iconic location is fully custom sprited to fit Rivals!
Basic Mode features one of Green Hill’s loops as a platform, along with a vertical moving platform on the right side of the stage; while Aether Mode removes the loop for a more open layout with a horizontal moving platform instead! Aether Mode also changes the time of day to sunset, casting the stage in an orange glow as a reference to Mania’s Encore Mode and Advance 3’s Sunset Hill!
Both modes also feature three different cameos, which will be removed if one of the corresponding characters appear in the match. Can you spot the secret easter egg?
Green Hill Zone features nine different music options from across the series, including a special Long Edit of Sunset Hill by Morris!
Tired of randomization and want to select the song yourself? Hold shield/parry and a direction on either stick or the keyboard during the match countdown! The available options change per mode and are as follows: (UP: 1/2, RIGHT: 3/4, DOWN: 5/6, LEFT: 7/8)
