Description:

"Commander, R&D has finally finished that project, after the many delays, we managed to get two of the Experimental SPARK Units operational. Unlike the other SPARKs we have that share multiple systems, these two are a bit more unique. They sport custom chassis to improve their combat effectiveness and some new equipment that we had to develop specifically to keep up with their combat prowess. We’ve already copied their cores and are able to produce more at your will. Additionally we have more Units in development, but until those get passed testing, these are all we have for now."

Introducing the SPARK Unit Pack, including two new SPARK Classes and over 20 custom abilities between the two classes. The SPARK Breacher excels in Close Quarters Combat; with its Breach-Loading Shotgun, a devastating single-shot close quarters weapon, and its Integrated Auto Pistol to attack those that are further away. The SPARK Guardian specializes in controlling the battlefield, whether through attacking its enemies with its Heavy Machine Gun, or through defending its allies with its Ballistic Shield.

SPARK Breacher Ability Set

SPARK Guardian Ability Set

GTS Perks:
  • None – As of current, this class has no GTS Perks.

Compatibility/Recommendations:
  • Shield Rework – Changes the SPARK Defender’s shield to not provide Shield HP and only provides Armor and Dodge, very nice.
  • Damage Calculation Tweaks – Changes how Armor works, I advise using this if you have modded enemies that can Shred Armor.
  • Covert InfiltrationOnly compatible if you also have the Compatibility Patch. Should also work for mods that make items single build, but has not been tested.

Issues/Conflicts:
  • SPARK Breacher’s "Integrated Auto-Pistol" attacks play the XCOM Soldier Heavy Weapon animation.
  • Grenades thrown by the SPARKs play the XCOM Soldier Grenade Throw animation (general SPARK bug).
  • Valkyrie Protocol has you punch your ally in the face (no damage is dealt, but this is an issue with the way the targeting is).

Credits:
  • Chawmander – Wrote/Planned all abilities and weapons for the SPARK Guardian and its Localization. Additionally got the mod back on track after its delay.
  • Shiremct, MrCloista, and Dies Irae – I learned a lot by looking into the code they have made and learned how to make my own class because of it, they all make really cool Proficiency Classes.
  • EvilBob22 – Kindly provided new icons for the SPARK Breacher and SPARK Guardian.
  • Iridar – Helped fix multiple abilities and the Breach-Loading Shotgun.
  • Tedster, Rusty Dios, & H4ilst0rm – Helped fix individual abilities.
  • FearTheBunnies – Found the issue that prevented the SPARK Breacher’s Shotgun from upgrading to Magnetic Tier.
  • Everyone’s mods that mine requires – Literally couldn’t exist without them, they are talented modders.

Closing Notes:

This mod underwent a major delay after burnout, but finally after months, it is here. I haven’t been able to widely test everything in this mod, there may be a few bugs. I plan on updating this pack with more SPARKs in the future, but for now, enjoy the SPARK Breacher and Guardian.

Additionally, this mod has not been majorly tested mid-campaign, I recommend starting a new campaign for the least amount of issues.
