DROZD 2C | Stormworks APS 6 shot | Better interception
How it works
This APS’s Logic works by first detecting and sifting through the first 5 Radar target distance variables to find the closest object, then it will calculate the speed of the object. if the speed is between 120~400m/s it will attempt an interception It will also launch chaff after the speed has been determined (The speed is usually determined close to the interception time this will make it appear that the chaff is being fired way after it was needed, the reason it is the way it is is because it is being fired to hopefully negate a successful rapid fire chain of missiles to penetrate through the Shots.). Then I figure out the time till impact by using the equation ({Distance-8.25m}/{Speed(m/s)})-0.15sec to get the time till interceptor launch. Once the equation puts out a number between 0 sec and 0.02sec it will fire an interceptor and if it got the speed right, there will be a successful interception of the missile!
This APS has a few benefits and drawbacks when comparing it to the other APS systems I’ve made in the past. anyways here’s a list of benefits and drawbacks.
Benefits
- 6 shots with the kit, 3 per unit
- Can now shoot down missiles at and around 360 m/s
- Better speed detection
- VASTLY better reaction time than Iron Fist HV
- Actually works with space patch
- Easy install
- More Focused radar (detects missiles quicker)
- 5 target tracking logic (targets closest object)
- Missile detection warning buzzer
- Won’t stare off into the distance lol
Drawbacks
- Only 20~25 degrees of Protected area
- Can’t warn if a missile is out of the radar fov
- Still very limited by the speeds of the missiles it can intercept but it is still better
- No APS can currently intercept a projectile due to radar being incapable of picking it up
Just to clarify, I don’t mind if you use my system on your tanks or vehicles just if you post them to the workshop please credit me for my APS system as I put a lot of effort into these.
- Connect to your electricity
- Hook up the radars to a button in your vehicle
- Move to sides of the vehicle *Preferably have lined up with the CG*
[ALT] Move to lowest point possible on a turret to maximize chance of intercept - Make sure it is 6ish meters or less from the end of the front
- Merge main unit body to vehicle
