To start the engines you have to open the two inner side panels on the right side and start it by turning on each the fuel pump and pressing the starter buttons until each engine turns at least at two rps. To operate the engine take a seat in the cab or set it up for MU service, the controls for the ESS are in the electrical cabinet in the cab. To shut down the engine, turn off the generator field switch and the fuel pump.
NOTE:
to get power to the wheels the generator field switch needs to be in the "on" position, it is placed on the main control panel in the cab.
