SNCF Z8100/RATP MI79
The SNCF class Z 8100, or RATP class MI 79, is an electric multiple unit build for the line B of Île-de-France RER rapid transit system. It is the first train build for the interconnection of the SNCF and RATP networks which are electrified differently and used different stations platform heights. The Z 8100 has been put in service in 1980 and are currently being renovated. This modernization should extend their life for another 15 to 20 years. All units can be coupled together to extend capacity at peak hours.
