Description:

The Israel Defense Forces are a highly modern and sophisticated fighting force.

I’ve never made a mod before, I’ve never been to Israel, I’ve never even met an Israeli. I took all the information from Google, Wikipedia, and various other sites to make this faction. This was a fun learning experience for me. The only thing I didn’t do myself is the X95, that I took from Excess3. After repeated attempts to contact him, I was never met with success and his excellent weapon was just wasting away in a broken mod that hasn’t been updated in years. Excess3, if you find this mod and don’t want me to use your gun let me know and I’ll remove it.

Currently features 7 custom camos with rank and epaulats. Three reworked vests, and one helmet. The X95 by Excess3, and a total reworking of many vanilla vehicles to give them more of an Israeli feel. Many of the vanilla NATO assets were taken from Israel, so adding things like squad markers and battalion barrels adds to the authenticity. However, keep in mind, it’s not perfect and it’s not meant to be perfect. I know that the Israeli Air Force doesn’t have a F/A 18 or the vanilla 181, so I used the assets at my disposal and tried to duplicate the theme. (That plane is the Rapha by the way, which means Ghost). Each texture is hand done in MS paint (yes, seriously, I’m a scrublord).

A note on Armor, I pulled my numbers from the VSM collection (they do the math so I don’t have to!) so none of the gear is overpowered from a protective standpoint. That being said, I cranked up the carry capacity on uniforms and vests pretty high. My reasoning was this: You rarely see IDF troops with backpacks on, when they have them on, they are typically empty and used to bring back intel. I’m not saying no one uses backpacks, but they seem to carry most of their kit on their person. This makes sense for Arma as well. Lots of additional gear can only be carried in the backpack slot. With big pockets you can put all your first aid, ammo, grenades, etc on your person, and still carry that mortar, or HMG, or whatever. It gives you options. But watch your stamina! Just because you can carry 15 Negev boxes doesn’t mean you should.

If you see anything messed up, critique is helpful. If you want something to be added, you can request it but just keep in mind, I’m a noob. I may be unable to fulfill it or it may just take me a long time.

Either way, enjoy the mod.
