Description:

Introduces DayZ style helicopter crash sites into your mission.

Features:

Randomized spawn locations within a pre-defined radius.
Define the number of crash sites.
Define a radius you want helicopter crash sites to spawn.
Define the type of loot crate/weapon/item you want to appear on the ground.
Define the type of helicopter you want to crash.
Works on any map. Zero incompatibilities with other popular survival mods.
Helicopter crash sites are marked on the map and have visible smoke trails/burning.
Inspired by the original helicopter crash sites from the DayZ mod.

How to use: unfortunately the steam workshop doesn’t just let you upload raw code which kind of sucks so I had to upload it as a custom composition which you can just place into your mission and it’s ready to use or copy and paste the script and execute it in whatever way you wish – I like to execute it about 3-10 seconds into the mission through a trigger’s timer or anytime thereafter just so the mission itself can initialise so there won’t be a drop to performance.

I’ve tested it with 100 crash sites and it worked fine – obviously there were performance issues using so many so I suggest 3-5 at a time although my mission worked fine with 10 but it made them too abundant, arma has no built in function for reliably returning the center of the map so you will have to do this in the editor by simply putting your mouse in the center of the map for your map, that being said here are some of the map centres for the more commonly used maps:
