The North Korean airline Air Koryo (Chosonminhan until 1993) is the owner of four TU-154. In 1975 – 1976 obtained two Tu-154A – P-551 (129) and P-552 (143), later they were finalized under the Tu-154B standard. In March 1977, it puts the Tu-154B, received board number P-553 (191), and in 1963 the Tu-154B-2 – P-553 (573).
They were used on the route Pyongyang – Irkutsk – Novosibirsk – Moscow. Also flew to China, East Germany and Czechoslovakia. In the last two Tu-154 made a lot of routes intermediate landings. Because with in 1983 they were replaced by the Il-62M. In the 1990s, we started to operate charter flights to Macau and Japan. In August 2000, the first flight to the capital of South Korea. For a meeting with relatives in Seoul 100 North Koreans were taken. Return flight to Pyongyang came 100 South Koreans. Trying to start flights to Hong Kong fell through – local authorities refused because of the high level of Tu-154B noise. Until now operated board P-552 and P-553, supplied to the remaining storage.
