Ever want to have a harder time making friends? To be… unpopular?
The totally free Unpopular Society Trait gives general empire relations minus 300, and costs no points on its own. Thus, you can pick this and 2 normal traits, and all the other empires will be generally less friendly to you. it should appear near the bottom of the Society Traits list.
Hatred, persecution, or total war not guaranteed; but friendship will require more effort. From my testing so far, it’s still possible to make alliances with NPC empires – especially if you have good alignment and compatible affinities. However, many more empires will distrust you and will not so willingly extend wizard bond offers to you. This should lead to more war and overall more aggressive/standoffish demeanor from other empires.
Before, if you happen to get to Very Good alignment and find yourself in possession of Rainbow Clover, you could basically get every Neutral and Good alignment player begging to hang out with you. But if you are unpopular… you have to really work for it.
