The gaze of monarchies was set toward the battle of Varna, which they thought would shape the fate of Europe. They did not expect the actual change to come from the inside. Austrian general, Hans von Rechberg, marshalled his troops and marched them straight into the imperial palace. Decrowning Fredrich III, he named himself the General of all Germany. To everyone’s surprise, the various princes of the Holy Roman Empire, tired and disgruntled by the nonsensical politics that plagued them for the past centuries, accepted this development with uncharacteristic enthusiasm. Every single one of them pledged loyalty to their new Generalisimo.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a turn just as dramatic has taken place. Army of loyal samurai led by Hisnaga Oda clashed with the forces of the Shogun-impostor in the largest battle the Land of the Rising Sun has seen, crushing them entirely. The shogun was found and executed later that day. After that, Emperor Hanzo II was restored to the Chrysanthemum Throne as the rightful ruler of all Japan… well, not before he agreed to grant the Samurai increased privileges.
