Dumpster Fire
A little bit of a backstory…
I got this game once it first released, it was great. What has really kept this game alive so far, was the modding community. Unfortunately, the developer was bought out by Saber Interactive, which decided to make a console and ‘season pass’ update causing great damage to the PC version of the game, especially the modding scene. As a modder myself, I feel betrayed. I had really high hopes for the future of this game, and, hopefully, Saber won’t kill it for profit now.
I am pretty much a sunday modder and make mods for my own enjoyment, so I was very disappointed to find out the dumpster fire caused by changes (probably) implemented in the name of the console playerbase. I HOPED THIS GAME WOULD FURTHER PUSH BOUNDARIES, INSTEAD OF SETTING RESTRICTIONS.
Some of the things I really hope get fixed in the upcoming updates:
1. Shadow volume clamping: I do realise that it is a limitation for AMD card users, but why can’t I tailor MY mods to MY machine’s capabilities?
2. Photo mode motion blur and depth of field, the entire photo mode feature got much worse after the update
3. Compatibility with pre-update mods, many of which are now riddled with issues or straight up broken
4. The additional paid content: I am not against DLC’s as such, but I feel like they can have greatly adverse effects on sandbox games
5. Performance and stability: I have already encountered many bugs (screen becoming green/black?) lag-spikes (in photo mode) and freezes (even on alt-tabbing) and I’ve barely spent an hour in this new update
6. The comically oversised new UI, which appears to be made for console only.
And yes, this is a protest mod, FEEL FREE TO REUPLOAD
its spawnable too
