Description:

This mod introduces a series of historical climate events ranging from the volcanic winters of 1257-1262 (in the wake of the Samalas Eruption) to centennial-scale climate anomalies over Europe.

Beginning in 950 A.D., and lasting until 1250 A.D., counties in Europe will be impacted by the Medieval Warm Period. Historically, this period was characterized by considerable population growth across the European continent. This mod reflects this by applying a slight boost to supply and development growth, in counties across Europe, during the Medieval Warm Period.

In the late game, from 1300 A.D. on, the Little Ice Age will descend upon Europe and impact supply and development across the continent. Colder winters and less reliable summers will slow development growth and reduce supply throughout the continent.

Between the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age, the Samalas Eruption of 1257, set off a period of global cooling that lasted 5 years. This mod adds this series of volcanic winters to the game. The effect of such volcanism is primarily on supply. During the 5-year period from 1257 – 1262, global changes to precipitation and temperature will reduce supply across the map.
