Authority for Political Interactions

Authority for Political Interactions (API) is a mod that aims to rework some of the vanilla political interactions (i.e., exile, invite agitator, grant leadership, grand command, and arrange accident) to make them more flexible to use and to give Authority another use beyond taxes and decrees.

In vanilla, certain character interactions have a 5-year cooldown, which can sometimes become annoying when a situation arises where you need to reuse one of those interactions, but you cannot due to the cooldown. With API, the cooldown is removed in favor of applying an Authority cost, allowing you to reuse the interactions, but only up to a certain point.

API also adds new Bolster Career and Suppress Career interactions, which, for a little authority, will slowly raise or lower the popularity of the given character over time.

API comes with built-in compatibility for Universal Names for all custom tooltips that include character names. No patch mods are required.

Compatible with Ferrous’s Let Me Lead and Let Me Assassinate mods thanks to special built-in logic on their end.

Mods that adjust any of the following character interactions will be incompatible:

• Exile
• Invite
• Grant Leadership
• Grant Command
• Arrange Accident
• Imprison Agitator

API does not otherwise overwrite any vanilla content and uses its own files and definitions for the remainder of its features, so all other mods will compatible.

The positioning of API with respect to most other mods should not matter.

If you are having issues with other, unrelated mods, place API lower (towards the bottom) in your playset.

This mod does not rely on any DLC features, so you should not need any DLCs.
