Description:
The Guard: Elite Soldier

In the original game, players may have to spend a lot of time and effort to unlock powerful soldiers.
Some of the Power Soldiers were tied to cultures and locales, and players had to fuse or shift cultures multiple times;
Another portion of the Power Soldiers would take until much later in the game to unlock, and by then it would be too late to unlock them.

In order to give players who don’t want to put more effort into this area a bit of a lazy way out, we made this mod.

Introduction

This MOD provides fourteen unique units recruitable exclusively by the player. They will gradually unlock through a series of events triggered by the military reform decision:

Military Reform

Now, a brand-new decision called "Military Reformation" has been added to the MOD, and it will cost you 1000 gold coins to enact.

This decision will trigger a series of military reform events. The first decision will unlock Early Soldiers for you:

Early Soldiers: (Available if the military reform has begun)

  • Early Cavalry: Light Cavalry
  • Early Infantry: Heavy Infantry
  • Early Archers: Archers

Starting from the second reform, you’ll need specific traits to proceed further (Genius, Strategist, or Military Education traits at level 3 or above).
If you possess a level 1 or level 2 Military Education trait, you will find an option to upgrade your Military Education trait level.

Further reforms are divided into four parts: Attack, Defense, Maneuver, and Tactics. Completing different reforms will bring you various bonuses and unlock different soldiers for you.
After completing all reforms, you will unlock all Reformed Soldiers:

Reformed Soldiers: (These soldiers will unlock after completing the respective reforms)

  • Guard Lancers: Heavy Cavalry (Maneuver + Attack)
  • Guard Horse-Archers: Horse Archers (Maneuver + Tactics)
  • Guard Chasseurs: Light Cavalry (Maneuver + Defense)
  • Guard Hussars: Hussars (Maneuver)
  • Guard Vanguards: Heavy Infantry (Defense)
  • Guard Phalanxmen: Pikemen (Defense + Attack)
  • Guard Longbowmen: Archers (Tactics)
  • Guard Crossbowmen: Crossbowmen (Tactics + Attack)
  • Guard Scouts: Skirmishers (Defense + Tactics)
Military Focus

Even after completing all reforms, the Military Reformation decision remains available.
At this point, you’ll have the option to choose among three different military focuses:

Military Focus:

  • Quantity Matters: Emphasizes the number of soldiers. This will increase the size of your army and reduce expenses. (And unlock special soldiers)
  • Quality Matters: Emphasizes the quality of soldiers. This will enhance your soldiers’ combat abilities but may slightly increase expenses. (And unlock special soldiers)
  • King of the Battlefield: Emphasizes the capability of knights. This will increase your number of knights and enhance their combat abilities but reduces the number of recruited soldiers.

Special Soldiers: (These soldiers will unlock after choosing the corresponding military focus)

  • Reserve Infantry: Unlocked by "Quantity Matters", Skirmishers (Stack: 500)
  • Veteran Guardsmen: Unlocked by "Quality Matters", Heavy Infantry (Stack: 20, Regiment Limit: 10)
