Description:

Background

I like playing as female-dominated faiths in CK III. However, it seems more realistic to have a system where men still do the "fighting and dying" part. It is interesting to contemplate a system where women provide political and social leadership as a privileged class. In this role, they would struggle to control men, while also relying on them for defense and military expansion. A good excuse to take skilled fighters as husbands and consorts.

What this mod does:

Adds a new Matriarchal gender religious doctrine.

For those who own Royal Court:
This does practically nothing. Male/female fighting is controlled by your culture’s martial pillar. As a result, the matriarchal gender doctrine does nothing except give you an immersive description. It plays identically to female-dominated in every way. You can achieve the same effect by having a female-dominated faith and a culture with Male-Only for its Martial Pillar.

For those who do not own Royal Court:
Matriarchy is similar to female-dominated except it requires that knights and commanders be male.

Compatibility

*I have attempted to modify as few vanilla files as possible to preserve compatibility.

*This mod changes the arrange marriage interaction, AI marriage acceptance logic, gender succession laws, and gender doctrines. Mods that change these files may have compatibility issues with varying degrees of severity (mostly minor).

*If there is a mod that does not work with this one, and I like the mod in question, and the interest is high, I will consider releasing a compatibility patch!
