Seppuku, a Shogunate submod
This mod has been created to reflect a core element of samurai culture. Although based in historical fact, some liberties have been taken for gameplay purposes.
This mod has several features, including:
- A āCommit Seppukuā decision, available to adult characters at any time and resulting in a prestige and renown boost
- The āDemand Seppukuā interaction, created to simulate the historical use of seppuku as a punishment
- āJunshiā, or the act of following oneās lord in death, also features in this submod
- Throughout all start dates there is the possibility that loyal vassals will commit seppuku upon their liegeās death
- When a liege is ailing and at war (1550 onwards), vassals are given the opportunity to request permission to commit seppuku once he dies. The lord may accept or deny this request, leading to different outcomes
- In the Late Sengoku era, a cultural innovation to outlaw junshi becomes available to with the Tenka Bito title; this is included to reflect the real-life Edo era decision to stop samurai needlessly killing themselves in peacetime
