E-Series
This mod adds two new mechanoids to find or fight. Requires Biotech DLC.
These guys are ancient colony defense mechanoids, used to protect foundling settlements on an untamed planet. Sadly, it doesn’t seem that very many of them are left – at least not in working order .
E-54 units are designed to be mostly self-sufficient robots. They’re also heavily outdated, meaning they don’t interface very well with modern mechanitor technology – which is both good and bad. They take no bandwidth, and can travel and work outside of a control radius. They’re designed with two (very handy) functions that separate them from most other units – both of which are excellent for life on hostile rimworlds.
1st – Self Repair
E-54 units are built with capable self-repair systems. While usable in the midst of battle, they’re much better suited to repairing cracks and dents after short engagements – on a steep cooldown, of course.
2nd – Sentry Mode
The prize-winning function of the E-54. The primary reason they were so popular. E-54 units are each, in themselves, walking mini-gun turrets, with the firepower to shred squads of enemies. By enabling Sentry Mode you cripple the mobility of the unit in exchange for a massive increase in both armor and firepower.
Sometimes, lying amongst the scrap and junk of old civilizations, you can find the wreckage of an E-54 unit. Using an advanced component, and the knowledge of a mechanitor, you can restore one of these units to working order!
Sadly, you aren’t the only ones who’ve had the idea to re-purpose old designs. The mechanoid hive has, at some point, acquired the blueprints to these units, and produced their own versions. These ME-54 units are just as tough as a regular E-54, but have exchanged their patented Sentry and Self Repair functions for reliable mobility and deadly accurate weaponry. Facing these guys in mechanoid clusters or ancient dangers could prove costly.
