Repentance Reforged: Characters Revised

Repentance Reforged aims to rebalance repentance, while remaining faithful to the vanilla experience. This mod specifically modifies a number of character mechanics in the hopes of augmenting and supporting character strengths and weaknesses.

– Magdalene’s Yum Heart has been moved to the pocket active slot. When Magdalene has high red health, she receives a positive damage multiplier, and negative shotspeed, movespeed, and tear rate multiplier. When Magdalene has low red health, the inverse is true. This change makes a red health build viable, while leaving room for an alternate low health playstyle as well.
– Tainted Cain’s Bag of Crafting melee attack will now scale with the amount of passive items crafted. In addition, melee kills have an increased chance of dropping consumables.
– Tainted ??? will now occasionally fart when firing (2%), which should add a supplemental and thematic form of damage output. These farts will apply player damage in a small radius around the player. Very rarely (0.2%), Tainted ??? will release a fartwave instead of a regular fart, which has a larger radius and damage effect.
– Tainted Lilith will now receive a temporary movement speed down, when firing. This should balance her raw damage around good positioning, as her speed will return to normal quickly after relaxing Gello. Tainted Lilith’s attacks additionally require a charge up (similiar to brimstone or monstro’s lung).
– Tainted Lost will now be punished for using Holy Cards. Each use will inflict a permanent all stats down for the run. The first card’s effect is largely neutral with RR Starting Trinkets.
– Tainted Eden will now receive a 3 second grace period between rerolls. During this time, damage will not reroll the character. This is in an effort to reduce the visual noise/confusion of rapid chain damage.
– Tainted Apollyon can no longer fire tears. However he will now start with three locusts, and will gain additional locusts when using Abyss. Tainted Apollyon can also use Abyss in a room with enemies to deal massive damage that scales with the total amount of locusts. Over time locusts will also die off, scaling faster with the total amount of locusts.
