Regrow the Nightelm Forests (Alshua’s Ellyrion submod)
My mods prioritize a sometimes painstaking amount of balance, and an aversion to disrupting vanilla playstyle. And as far as lore is concerned, Nightelm wood is uncommon, and no more can be grown. But some people actually play games to have fun, and I have had a fair number of requests to make it easier to build Nightelm armies. This submod is an answer to those requests.
My aversion to fun is too strong to permit me to just remove the cap, so this mod instead loosens it, retaining the basic design of having to work to get many Nightelm units, but making it a lot more forgiving. While I was at it, I let non-Ellyrian factions have some of the easier access to Harbingers and Ellyrian Silver Helms that Ellyrion gets.
- Now gain a small amount of Nightelm unit cap from Barracks buildings (this feature is standard for Ellyrion)
- Wood resource buildings now not only grant Nightelm unit cap, but also permit recruitment, allowing access to Nightelm units outside of Ellyrion if you can find a forest
- Harbinger hero cap increases at Tier 3 Stables buildings, instead of Tier 4 (this feature is standard for Ellyrion)
- Tier 4 Stables buildings now allow recruitment of Ellyrian Silver Helms for all factions, not just Ellyrion
- Barracks, Ellyrian Princess, and other sources give considerably higher unit cap for Nightelm units
- Wood resource buildings grant Nightelm unit cap and recruitment
