Requires Multi-line Production Methods Framework by 1230james for proper interface integration.

New update

-Improved compatibility with other by untying buildings from the fertility system
-Improved compatibility by making automated history changes (cattle ranches are automatically converted into other types of ranches depending on their area and level)
-Separated slaughterhouses from pig farms to improve sausages production behaviors
-Fixed a few PMs bugs
-Adjusted obsession defines to avoid population bankrupting themselves to buy their favorite type of meat

Expanded Livestock and Farming

MMV transforms the vanilla "Meat" good into 6 new goods: "Beef," "Pork," "Sausages," "Fowl," "Mutton," and "Milk." The mod introduces specialized farms such as Cow, Pig, Chicken, Sheep, and Goat farms, each catering to specific livestock types.

  • Cattle is raised for its beef and milk
  • Pigs are raised for pork
  • Chickens are raised for fowl
  • Sheep are raised for fabric and mutton
  • Goats are raised for milk, fabric and mutton, but will progressively lose all their competive advantage against modernised sheep farms.

More Production Methods
  • Animal feed boosts Beef/Fowl/Pork production at the expense of increased grain inputs.
  • Dairy/Beef cattle (exclusive to Cattle ranches) choices to increase Milk or Beef production
  • Shearing Methods (exclusively for Sheep ranges)
  • Sausages Factories allows to transform pork into sausages

Adjusted Livestock Availability
  • Goats are available in mountainous states and poor soil states
  • Cows are limited to river states or good soil states
  • Chicken, Sheep and Pigs are available everywhere except in mountainous states and poor soil states
  • Muslim and Jewish countries are forbidden for building Pig Farms if they have state religion or freedom of conscience

Adjusted Consumption Patterns

MMV adjusts population consumption patterns for both basic sustenance and luxury food needs. Milk becomes a staple while beef and sausages are favored by wealthier pops, creating socio-economic distinctions in dietary preferences.
Additionnally, meat consumptions patterns where adjusted by culture:

  • Germans are obsessed with Sausages
  • Australians, Welsh, Icelandic and Irish people are obsessed with Mutton
  • Spanish, Breton, Hungarian and Polish people are obsessed with Pork
  • Norwegians and Icelandic people are obsessed with Fish
  • Dixie, Argentinian and Brazilian people are obsessed with Beef
  • Pork and Sausages are taboo to Muslim and Jewish people

Compatibility & Integration

The mod was updated to be compatible with most mods now, you can play it with other mods without problems in theory

Potential Future Features

Below are a list of features I am considering adding in the future, I am still thinking about these atm. I might make the mod evolve into a complete agricultural overhaul mod in the future, it’ll depend on my free time and on whether I get volunteers to help me.

Base food expansion
  • Expanding milk & adding cheese production (French obsession)
  • Eggs?
  • Separate Slaughterhouses to convert cattle into meat?

Increased food production options:
  • Making Corn a separate good, allowing to focus farmland specifically for livestock feeding
  • Pelleted feeds industry?

Seafood expansion?
  • Separating marine fishes & freshwater fishes
  • Sardines? cans?
  • Surstromming (Swedish obsession)?
  • Separate whale meat (Japanese & Icelandic/Faroese obsession)

Animal clothes rework
  • Separating fabric between linen, wool, & cotton
  • Adding fur trade in Siberia/Alaska/Canada to give an economic incentive in the region
  • Adding leather production & leather clothes? Maybe it’s a bit outside the time’s frame though, I might replace it with boot productions instead
