Description:

2024/1/7 Update: Fixed the issue where the capitalists’ living standards plummeted due to investment efficiency overflow. Now, the situation will automatically return to normal after a month or two of game time.

【Economic Hegemony Series】THE INVISIABL HAND

In the 19th century, an era tumultuous with liberalism, the economy of nations and societies was more driven by the development of capitalist private property. Although Paradox also introduced the design of an investment pool to simulate private market investments, in actual gameplay, the power of the government always remains stronger.

This mod enhances the mechanism of the free market itself, making the "invisible hand" the leading force in economic development, thereby freeing up more government resources to be invested in diplomacy, military, and politics.

Features

1. Stronger Global Economy
With the market now taking the lead in economic development, even slow and inefficient AI government strategies can develop robust economic strength under the power of the free market. In the mid-to-late game, you can see countries around the world having a GDP 3-6 times higher than in the original game.

2. Greater Wealth Disparity
In a free market environment, there will be more significant disparities in wealth between countries and social classes. Developed economies can grow their economy with several times the investment efficiency of less developed ones, and the rich can earn enormous profits from massive investments.

3. Larger Scale of Investment
The development of trade, law, and technology can greatly enhance investment efficiency. Every advancement in society injects a massive amount of capital into the market, creates broader opportunities, and offers more stimulating leverage, ultimately forming a powerful capital force that drives economic development.

4. Quicker Market Feedback
In a market economy, speed is everything. Identifying opportunities and quickly getting on board; facing losses and swiftly downsizing. Rapid and agile market feedback can timely correct the wrong directions in market development, avoiding the waste of capital and resources.

5. More Focused Government Capital
Once the task of economic development is handed off, the government only needs to focus on creating good market conditions. Now, the government pays more attention to infrastructure development, providing basic services for economic growth.

6. Other Usability Changes
Includes user-friendly modifications like automatic construction in the building department.

Specific Changes

1. Price Fluctuations
Price is a crucial indicator in the free market, guiding the direction of market industry development. This mod adjusts the range of price fluctuations, making them more significant.

2. Trade Center
Trade and finance are like twins; the world’s trade hubs gather vast amounts of capital and projects, providing the perfect soil and environment for commercial investment. Now, as the level of trade centers increases, different production methods will provide increasingly higher investment efficiency bonuses to store owners/capitalists and other groups.
The establishment of a treaty port can create a large number of capitalists and massive investment efficiency bonuses in a trade center, instantly filling the investment pool. At the same time, less developed countries can also start with trade to strengthen their national capital forces, gradually transitioning to capitalism, simulating the path of industrialization historically achieved through comprador capital.

3. Economic Laws
Originally, most economic systems suppressed the investment pool. This mod significantly boosts investment efficiency under various economic systems, generally ranging between 25%-75%.
It also increases the share of construction power available to private entities under Interventionism and Laissez-Faire, now allowing 60% and 90% construction power, respectively.

4. Technology
A series of finance-related technologies in social technology historically provided various financial tools to amplify capital leverage, thereby enhancing investment returns and efficiency. This mod adjusts these as well.
Now, financial line technologies can offer an efficiency boost of 15%-25% to different groups, with capitalists benefiting the most, making capitalists more significant in economic development and earning more industrial dividends.

5. Railways
Railway construction is a key foundation for industrial development and historically was a profitable monopoly industry. However, in the game, it often operates at a loss, leading to little proactive investment from private investment pools. This mod separates transportation capacity into passenger capacity and freight capacities.
Additionally, production methods using freight capacity have been added for heavy industries like steelmaking and shipbuilding, expanding the market demand for transportation capacity. Now, railways can achieve profitability more easily, making capitalists more willing to invest in them.

6. AI
This mod partially draws on Improved Automation for AI improvements. Now, AI will pay more attention to the construction of departments and railways, and automatic expansion will also focus more on the profitability of industries. The randomness of private investment pools has been reduced, and now they will focus more on the most profitable industries in the market, the highest-priced commodities, and the enterprises with the highest output value. Additionally, some economic technologies have been weighted more heavily in the tech tree.

7. Others
The building department now supports automatic expansion;
Weakened the impact of GDP size on the investment pool;
when the technology points are maxed out;
Increased the maximum proportion of industry profits injected into the investment pool;
Sped up the hiring and layoff process in factories;
Increased the maximum construction input, speeding up the construction of individual buildings without affecting the total amount;
Shortened the refresh time of the investment pool.
