Description:

This mod aims to address the initial stage of the game, often perceived as too condensed for comprehensive exploration. It intertwines the onset of the Renaissance and the dawn of the Protestant Reformation, reverently acknowledging a crucial epoch in human history. Long after the purported conclusion of the "official" Roman Empire, society commenced a transformation, evolving more substantially within a few centuries than it had in over a millennium.

Ps: map mod, shields and etc featured on the pics are not included!

Or at least they thought their actions were towards this aspect.



For those with less patience to read, basically it will be tougher to blob with less army size/manpower/force limit and more volatile environment. You’ll need to RP more, maybe using different ideas and policies than usual. Also the battles have more war score, while the terrain’s importance is back in the business.



Ages’ duration and bonuses:

  • Age of Discovery ending with Printing Press, perhaps the real life spark for the 30 years war, buffing the bonuses because of the anti blobbing present within this mod
  • Age of Reformation ending with Manufactories, reflecting the time europe took to recover from this devastation war, also buffing the bonuses to reflect the secular appeal of the 30 years’ war
  • Age of Absolutism ending with industrialization
  • Those last two could be changed in the future, I’m open if it doesn’t break the idea of the first two ages being longer

⚔️ Warfare, through a special blend of these mods:

Below the thought process on how some of the military units should evolve on the alternative scenario that lies on EU 4, also that’s the reason different names are used but when you hover over the real life creators are mentioned. Cavalry still needs to be worked:

🏰 Administration:

  • Responsible Blobbing, with less force limit and gov. cap handicapped vassal game is back, as influence idea (and its policies) could be a game changer
  • Manpower is very important, if you are depleted your country will feel it for years, it’ll make you think more than twice before any war and the weight of your allies as they will leave if they get extremely low manpower

👑 Realm, changing the importance of:

  • Prestige – buffing army’s morale, global trade power and improving relations
  • Legitimacy – unrest, faith’s values buffed 33%; diplo rep and vassal income 100%
  • Stability – that’s where the surprises will come from, making the above values more important

⚜️ Events,you need to load the great Flavour and Events Expanded you will get new appeal for :

  • Culture
  • Dynastic
  • Great Powers’ wars
  • Wars of the religion in France – WIP
  • Great Peasant’s War – WIP

Religion:

  • 30 years’ war near the real life’s date
  • More turmoil with realistic army’s size, making it harder to control it while trying to manage different playstyles
  • Schalmaldick league, happening around 15-20 years after the Protestant’s emergence thanks to Europa Expanded files

📜 To be added and/or modified:

  • Devastation, should it be way more severe
  • Prosperity, with a harsh effect of devastation, a way to balance the things out
  • Manpower, with a default realistic manpower, a total depletion should made the country collapse
  • New Age’s bonuses, like mercenary discount within Age of Discovery
  • Hussite to be included as possible HRE emperor if the league wins



Flavour and Events will help with improved RP aspect, new additions that match this mod aesthetic.
Xorme AI is a deal breaker when we talk about making the AI smarter, you’ll think twice before each war and battle, AI countries will choose smartly their ideas and it’s nice a new challenge, not only the modifiers.
Unio Veterum Chartarum is the go to map mod to marry this time frame.



It is not compatible with achievements and old saved games

Europa expanded works randomly unbalanced Ottobros not as boss as vanilla, Poland – and later PLC – are too OP sadly
