Description:

This is a historically accurate mod starting in 49 BC which covers the era of Caesar’s civil war with Pompey Magnus and the Senate.

The year is 49BC. Over the past decade, Julius Caesar has vanquished every nation of Gaul that dared stand against Rome. Having legally overspent his political tenure and illegally raised legions that are loyal directly to him – the Optimates in the Senate have laid legal charges against Caesar and demand that Caesar step down from political office, disband his legions and submit himself for trail in Rome. Such an act would be political and literal suicide, as his many enemies in the Senate would take the opportunity to rid the Republic of Caesar once and for all.
Following the death of the Triumvir Crassus, the Triumvirate which governed Rome has fallen apart. Now Caesar stands in Italy with his legions, ready to cross the Rubicon river and march on Rome itself.

– Starting positions reflect the world of 49 BC
– Parthian Empire has been unified with its vassals
– Removed secondary political parties for Roman and Parthian factions (result: no Roman or Parthian civil Wars)
– 12 turns per year
