Main Moves

Tips n’ Trix

Forward tilt sweet spot
Knell’s normals are fairly weak, but he has a couple of hard hits up his sleeve. The second hit of forward tilt will viciously stab your opponent on the end of the blade!

Quick Combos
Looking to make the most of your tail grab? Try throwing a vial first with neutral special, then quickly followup with forward strong to serve your poisoned opponent to you on a silver platter! Follow up with shorthop neutral air to start your empowered combo special!

Extra Down Special knockback
Be careful when using down special, the buff will cause you to take extra knockback.

Jump Off Vials
You can hit vials with down air, causing you to refresh your double jump and get big air! The easiest way to do this is to throw down and immediately follow up with down air. Be careful though, you can only throw up and down once each while remaining in the air.

Death Strike Activation
If you’ve managed to activate the death ring effect on your opponent, you can only activate it with moves that have knockback scaling. For example, only the third hit of dash attack will work!

Extra Up Special Range
You can hit your vial with up special to get extra distance! Just immediately tap up special when you up throw a vial.

Death Ring Transfer
Need more time? simply grab your opponent again with forward special outside of an active death ring, and it will reset its timer and transfer to the new location!

Lore

Knell, like many of his species, was left to fend for himself at a young age. Finding his way into the swamp estuary, he was raised as a martial artist. However, his tutors found Knell’s temperament to be too agitated to uphold the ways of peace in their domain. He witnessed his masters fall, one by one, to this path of pacifism.

One day, Knell was found to have left the estuary to assassinate their enemies using the skills taught to him. He was outcast, and he left to seek his way in the mountains.

To this day, he lurks between those jagged valleys and jutting cliffs, honing his craft and concocting his foul alchemy, all in service of instilling fear into those with power.
