[Fighter Blueprint] Kha’ak Fighter M3 [X3]
Kha’ak incursions into Commonwealth space began shortly after the Paranid Empire began nividium mining operations on a fragment of the destroyed Kha’ak home world. The hive-minded Kha’ak have managed to master point-to-point jump technology, and their first attacks on the sectors of President’s End and Elena’s Fortune devastated Argon sector defenses and even destroyed a jump gate before their onslaught was finally turned back at Omicron Lyrae.
Kha’ak fighter forces usually consist of a single one of these M3-class fighters flanked by up to 30 M5-class scouts. These ships link together in a cluster in order to jump from sector to sector, where they rely on their overwhelming numbers to destroy anything in their path. Kha’ak Fighters mount pinpoint-accurate kyon emitters as well as a variety of Kha’ak-designed missiles.
While Kha’ak Fighters have only average shielding, speed, and firepower, their formations become deadly when they arrive without warning and in overwhelming numbers. Many an unprepared pilot has attempted to counter this attack with missiles, only to have them detonated an instant after launching in the crossfire of Kha’ak kyon beams.

This build of the Kha’ak Fighter is based on its appearance in X3: Terran Conflict. It is 197 blocks. The shape of this fighter is difficult to re-create in Avorion, especially on a block budget – it is supposed to be both equilateral and equiangular, but I had to fudge a few of the angles to get it to work, so it doesn’t look quite perfect. I think I at least got close enough.
Screenshots (besides the auto-generated preview image) show fighters at true scale – when you use this blueprint to produce fighters, that’s the level of detail you can expect from the final product.
