Description:
Thank you for all your support and patience! My partner’s Melixie’s computer blew up, but we have managed to get everything to work! Melixie should be considered the author of this project, I had to upload it for him.

We have a really cool concept for playing with Rivals 2’s new grab mechanics. You know it’s a perfect fit Dan, DM me <3.

Profile

Fuchsia is a botanist obsessed with collecting and cataloging the flora of aether. Due to her reclusive nature and intimidating appearance, she has been called "The Flower Reaper" by many children fearing that a monster would gobble them up. But anyone who’s met Fuchsia would know these tales to be tall. While socially inexperienced, Fuchsia’s bold and effervescent personality never fails put a smile on everyone’s face!

Because she has no elemental powers herself, she uses the material she has gathered from plants in their stead, wishing to one day study the flora grown from elemental power. Her ability to get into and out of dangerous forests unharmed has allowed her to gain her contributions to the Aetherian Journal of Botany, and led Mayreed to commission her to find her missing sister Maypul. To that end, she travels the continent of Aether, never missing the opportunity to document a new plant or meet a new friend along the way.

Elemental Powers

NECTAR TRAP – Fuchsia’s Down Special places a Nectar Trap on the stage. Enemies who touch it become sticky, causing them to lose their next jump and making them more vulnerable to Fuchsia’s grab.
DEATHLY GRASP – When Fuchsia grabs a sticky opponent, they can be pummeled multiple times before being thrown. If the opponent guesses which pummel Fuchsia will perform, the sticky status will be removed instead and the grab will continue as a normal grab.
FLOWER POWER – Fuchsia’s Forward Special fires a bladed flower that flies in a straight line, gaining speed over time before stopping mid-air. The longer the special button is held before releasing the move the farther the flower goes before stopping.

Fuchsia is a terrifying grappler with a focus on setplay, designed to play with Rivals 2 unique grab mechanics. Her combination of traps and pokes allow her to limit the opponent’s options and setup deadly grab pressure. While she is large and not terribly heavy, she has a talent for shifting her body so that attacks will miss her. And while her recovery is poor, her edguarding is strong.

Notable moves

-Fuchsia’s Up Special is a high damage grab that sends you and the opponent straight downward, even into the blast zone. If you hold any attack button while connecting this move, you will slash the opponent and release them opposite to the direction you were facing.

-Fuchsia’s Down Throw shoves the opponent downward into the ground, bouncing them upward afterwards and allowing for early combos. If Fuchsia is standing on her Nectar Trap, the opponent will get buried in it instead, incapacitating them and allowing Fuchsia to follow up with almost any move.

-Fuchsia’s Down Air is a low-flying lunge downward that can be used for recovery and to soft-spike an opponent. It can be jump canceled to gain the momentum from the attack, but can be dangerously hard to control.

-Fuchsia’s Up Tilt is a flurry or blows above her that will place the opponent directly in front of you. The move only hits aerial opponents however. You can hold the attack button to make the move a rapid attack.

-Fuchsia’s Forward Air is a quick, forward aerial swipe with good range. The early hit knocks your opponent away and is great for edgeguarding, while the late hit will pull the opponent towards you and can be used for starting combos.

-Fuchsia’s Back Air has her wagging her abdomen in an attempt to keep the opponent back. This move comes with a windbox that will push the opponent away and push Fuchsia forward. Hitting the opponent with the abdomen itself will lightly spike them.

-Fuchsia’s Forward Tilt is a slow, mid range option that can be used to pull your opponent into close range while leaving them vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
