Th8’s Extended Software 2

This is version 2 of Th8’s Extended Software mod, a rewrite of my original Th8’s Extended Software mod supporting the newest version of Software Inc.
It adds 9 new software types to Software Inc. I originally made this mod because I missed some variation in the vanilla game and wanted more types of software to branch out in.

The current version does not include any hardware or 3-star features, I do plan on adding those at a later point.

All Software types have custom name generators and have been included in the AI companies repertoire.

If you have any suggestions, ideas or bug-reports you can let me know in the comments. If you want to use part of my mod to create something yourself, send me a message. Please don’t blatantly copy all of it though.

Video Editing Software

This software allows its users to create their own homemade video’s but is also used in other software that requires video editing.

Instant Messaging Client

This software allows users to chat with each other and, in later stages of the game, voice- and video-chat with each other. Be aware that it will require some bandwith at your end to keep the service running, especially when the age of video-chatting starts blooming.

Media Player

This software allows the user to listen to their music and watch video’s.

Database tool

This software allows the user to create and maintain a database, it is required for several features of other software and can be made as In-house software.

Integrated Development Environment

This software allows the user to easily create code with an abundance of quality-of-life improvements.

Web Browser

This somewhat more late game piece of software allows its user to browse the world wide web.

Video Recording Software

This late game piece of software allows its users to recording their screen and later on adds livestreaming capabilities.

P2P Client

Small late game software that’ll give startups a nice new market to break into.

E-mail Client

This software allows users to view and send e-mails. The software itself is medium sized and provides a new option when starting out with new features innovating the software landscape until the ’00.

Version 1.1

• Added a lot of features to all 9 different software types.
• Made it possible to develop the database tool as in-house software.

• Rewrote the mod to work with the new modding format
• Removed Screenshot Tool as it had gotten too small, feature wise.
• Removed ‘Develop with IDE’ feature as the game no longer supports features applied to all software.
