Nuclear Artillery units
This mod contains six Warp Lightning Cannon units modified to fire tactical nuclear artillery shells. The six units come in the following yields (a real life equivalent is in parentheses):
- 10 tons (Davy Crockett warhead)
- 100 tons (Nuclear land mines)
- 1 kiloton (Various nuclear shells)
- 1 kiloton neutron bomb: features by far the largest warpstone poisoning radius.
- 7 kilotons (W76-2 warhead)
- 15 kilotons (W9 nuclear shell)
All these nuclear explosions are modified Doomrocket VFX particles. The fireballs are realistically sized, at least according to NUKEMAP. Each explosion delivers a highly damaging main explosion that deals thousands of damage (corresponding to the 20 PSI overpressure radius), an invisible warpstone poisoning explosion that deals 39 armor piercing damage (corresponding to the 1000 rem radius) and a weaker overpressure explosion that deals 39 normal damage (corresponding to the 5 PSI overpressure radius). The additional damages were made possible with shrapnel.
This mod is an attempt to have realistically sized nuclear explosions while modifying the build and cost times so that they won’t be OP in the campaign. Skavens, High Elves, Dark Elves and Lizardmen can recruit these nukes in the campaign and it typically takes about 5 turns to recruit them. I would definitely be interested in seeing this mod in multiplayer, just to see if players adhere to certain nuclear strategies (no-first use, nuclear ambiguity, nuclear deterrence etc.).
All units except for the 15 kiloton unit are unlocked by building either a Warp-Turbine Plant, a Dragon Hatchery, a Tower of Mages or a Pyramid of Itzl. The 15 kiloton nuke can be unlocked by building a Warp-Forge, a Beastmaster’s Stables, a Grand Repository or a Corral-Arena. This means, yes, the 15 kiloton nuke is unlocked before the lower yield nukes. This is because A) the 15 kt nuke is much more expensive to recruit and maintain, B) the 15 kt nuke is an overkill weapon, likely to significantly harm your own units in addition to enemy units and C) this is a reflection on how in real life the W9 nuke was developed before those other smaller yield nuke.
All the cannons have a range of 2000 meters.
If you don’t want to wait on the recruiting, you can use Prop Joe’s Cross-Factional recruitment mod to instantly recruit these nukes. These nukes are found under the race "Nuclear Artillery Pack":

This mod is a movie pack file, so it might not appear in CA’s mod manager. Therefore, I recommend using the Total War Mod Manager:
