Trait Balance
Improves faction selection with more accurate point costs for traits, and adjusted traits for factions to add up to 80. I based these adjustments on playtesting and community research.
It bothered me how basic factions have different point totals. It implies the traits were imbalanced, or the factions were imbalanced. I did small adjustments of both to bring everything together. The goal is for point costs to accurately represent the value of each trait.
Changes
– Reduced the cost of most "technology available" traits, especially those which require building things instead of giving a passive bonus. Unlike other traits, these require additional research investment to gain their benefits.
– Adjusted the cost of several "starting technology" traits.
– Reduced the cost of several DLC traits, which are less valuable than indicated, particularly those added for the Forgotten.
– Adjusted factions to add up to 80 trait points. I attempted to keep the core "theme" of each faction intact.
