Description:

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FOR INFORMATION ABOUT REQUIREMENTS AND LOAD ORDER

This mod requires Veterans of Alesia and Heroes of Zama to reskin the Roman units to a high quality and period accurate appearance; in addition the Caesar in Gaul and Hannibal at the Gates DLC is also required.

This mod is not compatible with my Octavian’s Battle mod, you can be subscribed to both, but you can only have one enabled at a time. Make sure to put this mod towards the bottom of your load order. It has a lot of built in compatibility with other mods, and needs to be overwritten by pretty much everything to benefit from this.

I highly recommend subscribing to Benjin’s AAA Romans and AAA Greeks because it will enhance the appearance of some of the characters in the mod. The mod also features a high quality custom designed Pompey Magnus by Benjin as well. I also recommend subscribing to my Late Egyptians mod to improve the appearance of the Egyptian units in the mod.

Creative Assembly originally intended to include the Battles of Pharsalus and Zela as historical battles, which is evident because there is recorded narration, dialogue, and text/subtitles still within the files of the game that pertain to both these battles, and other battles. Using these assets, we have also created the Battles of Thapsus and Munda, to tell even more of Caesar’s story beyond Zela.

The existing Caesar battles of Alesia and the Nile have also received some attention as well to make them more historically accurate, and consistent with the new battles. The mod makes even more use of more previously hidden audio, by creating longer pre-battle introductions for Alesia and the Nile. These longer introductions give more context on the events prior to the battles, and creates a narrative that ties the battles closer together.

The main purpose of this mod is to tell the story of Caesar’s journey through the Civil War, from the conclusion of his campaign in Gaul with the Battle of Alesia to his last major battle at Munda, and to serve as a sort of epilogue to Caesar in Gaul or precursor to the Octavian’s Battles mod.

For the Caesar battles the recommended and historical order to play them is:

#1 Alesia
#2 Pharsalus
#3 Nile
#4 Zela
#5 Thapsus
#6 Munda
