Overview & Features :

Car keys spawn in the ignition, glove box, buildings near the vehicle, on the ground, and on zombies, but there is also a low probability that they will spawn on the "vehicle door". However, when it spawns on a vehicle door, there is no way to confirm that it has spawned, and it seems that the key can only be retreived under certain conditions.

Therefore, this mod will add the feature to automatically retrieve the keys from the door and notify the player with a message when the player attempts to enter a vehicle whose keys are spawned on the door, regardless of the conditions.
Confirmed to work with Build 41.78 and also work on MP.

Q&A :
  • What is the probability of a key spawning on a vehicle door?

    It is 1/4 probability compared to the spawn to the glove box. Of course, spawning keys on the door is not a feature of this mod, but of vanilla. This mod only reteives keys that have already spawn on the door.

  • Is it possible to retrieve the key from the door without using this mod?

    Yes, it’s possible. If a key is spawned on the door, it can be retrieved when trying to enter through a locked door. However, there is no notification, and the key is only silently added to your inventory.

  • Do I need to try entering through every door to retrieve the key from the door?

    No, as long as the key is spawned on the door of that car, the key can be retrieved by entering through any door.

  • Does it work even if it’s enabled in the middle of the save data? Or do I need a new game?

    This mod makes it easier to get keys spawned on doors, rather than having them spawned on doors. Therefore, a new game is not required.

  • Finding Message Notification : Can specify whether to enable or disable.

Remarks :
  • If the sound effects of this mod are too loud, please follow the steps below to replace the sound effect files.
    1. Open the following folder.
      • C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent1086003056481712modsP4OnTheDoormediasoundadjust
    2. Select your liking file from the volume adjusted in 10% increments.
    3. Rename the selected file to "P4OnTheDoor_Remove.wav" and overwrite it with the file of the same name in one folder above.
    4. If the game client is running, restart the client once.
