Description:

After uploading the hilariously somewhat-bugged Skyrim Tabletop — which is still the only other map table mod on the Workshop, for what it’s worth (just had to brag a little here) — I got a couple of requests to make a mod that emulates the pre-1.12, blank, black background, as the new map table’s been giving some people FPS issues.

And so I did. And if you’re one of those people, I hope this’ll help solve your issues. I replaced the map table with… nothingness. Maybe it’s a poignant metaphor for the void to which all kings and emperors eventually come at the end of their mortal lives. Or maybe it’s just a black plane. You decide. Well, technically, it’s a test cube model placed under the map, but if a test cube exists and no one is around to see it, does it make an FPS impact? Because of how the environments work, though, it’s not a perfect recreation, as you can still move the camera around in all the funky ways you can with a regular (or Skyrim, wink wink) table, and you’ll still hear environmental sounds like footsteps as well, but it’s about at close as I can get, I think. You can pretend the footsteps are the ghosts of your character’s ancestors, frowning upon how terribly inbred their proud, noble dynasty has become.

To activate it, go into the settings in the main menu, under Interface Styling. Change Map Table Style to Blank. You’ll have to restart the game for the changes to take effect.
