RIM-104 Renegade

The following information is fiction
The RIM-104 Renegade was an early short-range missile designed for the United States Navy in 1951, although rumors suggest that the program for the type had already been initiated as early as 1948.
The Renegade was highly advanced for the time, opting to use active radar homing, a then new technology at the time, instead of beam guidance.Ultimately, the program fell short due to cost overruns and technology rapidly advancing to the point of rendering the Renegade thoroughly obsolete by the end of the decade. Continued development would’ve cost more resources than it was worth, and so the decision to axe the program was made just 1 year after its debut, in favor of more cost effective and/or advanced systems then being developed.

Creators Note:
I decided to make a new missile because I was dissatisfied with the lousy performance of one of my previous missile launchers, The Falcon SRAD.
The performance and accuracy of these new ones make the Falcon look like a toy. Please do not re-upload this item without permission from me, the author.
