The groups leader feared that he faced a summary exeqution and started talking to save his life. He had split his forces up to be able to plunder their supplies from the dirt poor farmers as they traveled, a single large force might have starved if their plunder proved to be less than expected.
Unfortunately for you the troop you encountered was the last to leave when they set out. Your captive was left in a shallow grave as a mad dash back towards your mother and father commenced.
As you arrive you know it’s already over, the people moving around your home are strangers carrying of your belongings. The workers are all missing and the smell of gunpowder still linger in the air. Against better judgement you still hope something can be saved and prepare to breach your own home and enact vengance on those within.
