(8) The Gap is Back
This map is inspired by the Hochwald Gap from CoH 1. However, some things are different, some remain the same. In a nutshell:
– The good stuff (2x med fuel + 1x high ammo) is on the eastern island.
– The fuel point in front of your base is crucial for linking that up.
– Unlike the original, both teams have a vehicle bridge to this island.
– Only infantry (no ATs) can pass the small (eastern) bridges to the central part of the map.
– Any vehicle for the island (and elsewhere) has to use the main exit/entrance.
– Don’t try to foul around with footbridge’s tank traps. They are fake and just decor.
– The western forrest is very narrow (compared to the original map). Keep in mind that this is not tank country. There have been games where plenty of tanks went into the woods to establish law and order. They didn’t come back.
Overall challenges on this map:
– If you lose on the main road, you get into trouble getting vehicles out of your base.
– If you lose the island, you are giving plenty of fuel and ammo to the enemy.
– If you lose the mid east center, the enemy might push towards your fuel point and cut you off the island.
– If you don’t care about the forrest, you get flank spanked hard.
Other notes:
– Although this map is advertised to be a 4 vs 4 one, keep in mind that it is quite small. 352×352 vs Aere Perennius with 512×416 which is a 2 vs 2 map. So you can play it with less than 8 players.
– It is still work in progress. The balancing is a bit off in favour of Team 1.
Have fun
