Description:

This mod is trying to make campaigns and battles more epic and enjoyable, but I’d imagine there are more people like us who want more out of Rome II Total War.

I have adjusted all vanilla unit sizes to those specified below for ‘ultra’ setting; you can lower it however much you want from there on the settings. I’ve tested out the sizes so that battles last a bit longer by helping frontlines hold longer and more units survive in the end. Elephants and chariots also benefit from this, having far more strength in number to match their percieved value than they used to have. They can actually survive a battle for once, even against a challenging enemy. I believe these subtle changes have a great impact both on strategic realism and on the EPIC aesthetic that battles ought to have. I have a 1080Ti graphics card and 12GB RAM and it doesn’t seriously lag on me with full armies on the field, but do tell if you notice anything. If battling with four full armies, the game may crash, so lowering to Large from Ultra may help.

Infantry: 340
Ranged: 260
Cavalry: 120
Elephants/Chariots: Same # as vanilla, but 2x charge and melee damage!
Artillery: same as vanilla

These units include ones from 4 unit mods that I like (contained within this mod):

MRD Pergamon Expanded (Troy / Trojan units) by murvaidavid
Egypt Total Overhaul by .takeR.
N: .takeR. ‘s and .vadeR. ‘s Parthia Total Overhaul – UPDATED by Inohayaji
Elite Silver Shield Pike and Swords. Seleucid. by Zaskar70

If there are any (smaller) unit mods that you think look really awesome, state them in the comments and I’ll see if they work and add ’em in with proper sizing.

Incompatibilities

This mod is compatible with the politics update, tell me if there are other unit or size mods that are incompatible with it. Anything that modifies unit sizes ought to be incompatible for sure. This mod only affects the Grand Campaign, vanilla units, and instant-battle mode, so you should probably check it off if you’re actively playing in another DLC campaign or battle-mode.

– I have my suspicions about the Blood & Gore DLC. I still have some testing to do, but I’ve noticed more lag than there should be with it on in a pretty small siege battle.
