Filozošsko – Post-War Start
Welcome to Filozošsko – a prosperour but war-torn region in central Europe. Despite the scarcity of resources, it managed to develop its industry and infrastructure in the interwar period, which will provide you with a head-start, if you manage to bring it up to speed.

The region generally consists of flatlands, which are, however, separated in the very middle by the chain of the Wisdom Mountains. The mountains are also cut by the canyon of the main river – Ruse. Its valley is the main transport corridor connecting the eastern and western parts of the republic. The vast land creates great opportunities for developing farmlands, but to have resources, one must venture into the mountains.
Historically, the western part of the republic has always been more developed. Its advanced river network and dense population also sprouted most of the country’s industry, the most important of which are the Platonov steelworks, connected directly to the local open pit mine. Miraculously, most of the plant aswell as the mines managed to survive the war with barely any damage. After minor fixes, the facility can be already brought back to full glory. The rolling stock of the steel mill also partially survived, as one locomotive with carriages is ready to start service, bringing raw copper ore from the mines to the ground level for processing.
The Platonov steelworks are then directly connected by rail to the entire country’s network in Sokratesovy. From there, the track continues towards Žďár nad Rusou, the historical capital of the region, aswell as the biggest city. It is located in the canyon of Ruse, houses some light industry and used to serve a cruicial role in the state’s security.
After crossing the Wisdom Mountains through the valley of Ruse, we step out onto the barely inhabited wetlands near Vědomice. From there, we can return into the mountains along the trail of the long abandoned railway line to Komtice, where several factories are located.
The bridges above the many rivers of the country were the main targets of bombing raids throughout the war, which means that they are now the main hindrance in getting the whole country back up and running. Some were very crudely repaired, however a vast majority remain untraversable.
Armed with this knowledge, you can now read the reformed republic of Filozošsko to glory!
